Research notes, 1966-1973, compiled by Elfrieda A. Kraege for an unpublished biography of American missionary and founder of Hamilton College, Samuel Kirkland. Included are six notebooks of lengthy typed notes, excerpts, bibliographical citations, and chronology from a wide variety of printed and manuscript sources pertaining to the life of Kirkland and his contemporaries. Also included are printed maps of the historical region relevant to Kirkland's biography, as well as assorted informational flyers and pamphlets concerning the local history of relevant sites in New York and Maine.
